Lang Co Beach: Explore one of Vietnam's most beautiful beaches

Lang Co Beach is  part of Lang Co Bay, one of the most beautiful bays on  earth. It is a place where mountains, rivers, seas and lagoons come together. It is still high on many travelers' wish lists.

Lang Co Beach is known as one of the most beautiful natural coastal landscapes in Vietnam. Located between Da Nang City and Hue, Lang Co is a perfect stopover when traveling between these two cities. Read below for more recommended guidelines for a worthwhile trip to this place.

Lang Co Beach is located in Lang Co Town, Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province. He is more than 60 km from Hue city center and about 25 km from Da Nang city,  at the foot of the famous Hai Van Pass. Lang Co is considered an 'all-in-one place' with majestic mountains, white sandbars and  warm sun-filled clear waters.

Lang Co Beach's peak season  is from April to July. The rainy season is from August to December. It can also be cold from December to March when the wind blows from the northwest.

How to get to Lang Co beach Hue?

  • By Plane: For travelers departing from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi,  flights from these cities to Hue are operated daily by various airlines. After landing at Phu Bai  - Hue Airport, you can take a taxi to Lang Co Beach. Journey time is typically 1 hour. 
  • Train: Perfect for those who have  time on their hands and want to admire the beauty of Vietnam along the way. Book train tickets from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Hue first before traveling from Hue to Lang Co Beach. Ticket prices range from VND 350,000 to VND  1,200,000  depending on  class. 
  • Coaches: Coaches to Hue are generally north-south sleepers. Fares range from 300,000 VND to 450,000 VND/ticket. 
  • Taxi: Taxis are available from Da Nang International Airport to Lang Co. Most taxis are metered and  cost around VND 450,000 including tolls and airport exit tax.

Get relaxed at Lang Co beach

Lang Co has a beautiful long stretch of beach that arcs against the backdrop of  the mountains of Bach Ma National Park. The 10 km long beach with  fine yellow and white sand is very attractive. 
 
If you think it's all about swimming at the beach, you're missing out on so much more, like enjoying the warm breeze, reading a magazine, or renting a boat to cruise around. An evening stroll along the beach  will take you to many excellent seafood restaurants.

Catch the sunrise on Canh Duong beach

Canh Duong is located just below Laguna, next to Chang May Harbour, in Loc Binh Parish. The smooth arc of white sand that hugs the vast ocean has made thousands of visitors fall in love with this  Lang Co Bay beach.

Come to Canh Duong Beach and watch the sun rise over the horizon. This moment brings not only inner peace, but also a lot of great pictures.

Go fishing in Lap An lagoon

Lap An's water is blackish - a blend of fresh and salty water. In the sunset, Lap An lagoon glistens like a huge mirror reflecting the sky.

Coming to the lagoon, you can also see many tiny boats of the local fishermen floating along the water surface. Trying fishing with the locals while enjoying the airy, peaceful space will definitely help you unwind from a hectic life.

Explore Bach Ma National Park

After setting foot on Lang Co Beach, don't miss Bach Maa National Park, which has the most pleasant climate in Indochina, with cool temperatures ranging from 10 to 22 degrees Celsius all year round. You will be amazed by the huge ecosystem with about 500 species of plants and many  rare creatures. This is also a popular spot for trekking tourists who  want to explore their limits and see the beauty of nature.

Admire the beauty of Lang Co Bay from the Hai Van pass

Hai Van Pass is an old highway that was built before the 6.2-kilometer tunnel was built. Between Da Nang and Lang Co, this route meanders through the mountains. At the top, there are stunning views that take in all of Lang Co and the ruins of some of the wartime US outposts.

Visit Elephant Springs 

Elephant Springs is a great stop on the way from Hue to Da Nang or vice versa while driving  the Hai Van Pass. 60 km from Hue and 50 km from Da Nang.

Elephant Springs is about 500 meters long and has various natural  pools of clear, cool water. Rocks of all sizes are scattered across the stream. Beneath it is a huge rock that looks like an elephant and gives the spring its name. 
 
Here you can take a dip to cool off in the water or relax on the flat rocks  listening to the sound of rushing water while soaking up the sun.

Visit the Tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh

The  Royal Tomb of Emperor Nguyen Khai Dinh was built between 1920 and 1931 by Emperor Kai Dinh, the 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. 
 
Unique among the royal tombs in Hue, Vietnam. While other royal tombs are vast, Khaidin built his final resting place in a small area that combines Eastern and Western architectural styles.

Watch the sunset of Tam Giang lagoon

The site is located in Phong Dien, Quang Dien, Phong Cha, 15 kilometers  from Hue city. This is where the Perfume, Bo and Orau Rivers meet before entering the sea through the Thuan An Estuary. The natural beauty and tranquility of Tam Giang Lagoon should be admired and enjoyed by all visitors.

Learn about the culture of craft villages in Lang Co Bay

Besides visiting famous landmarks, learning about the culture of  Lang Co handicraft village is also an interesting experience. An hour's drive from Lang Co to Tu Duc Tomb is a small suburban street lined with stalls selling colorful incense sticks. Here, each incense stick is carefully selected and you can take stunning photos.
