Top 10 Beaches in Da Nang

The most beautiful beaches in Da Nang are known for their clean water and sand. The most famous spots, such as My Khe and Non Nuoc, are relatively close to the city center. Less than 10 minutes away by car, they are often crowded with locals during weekends and public holidays. 

You can also find many local restaurants serving fresh seafood and Da Nang specialties at affordable prices. Outdoor seating and outdoor seating are available for rent. 

If you like a quiet place during your vacation, Son Tra peninsula is the place you should go. Its main beaches are home to luxury resorts with fine dining restaurants. Da Nang's weather is warm and sunny all year round, making it a suitable place for activities such as surfing, kayaking, beach volleyball and jet skiing. 1. My Khe Beach

My Khe Beach

My Khe Beach has a 32 km stretch of white sand, located about 6 km east of Da Nang. Named by the American military that visited it during the Vietnam war, it is considered  one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. 

Home to many high-end resorts and seafood restaurants, My Khe Beach is also a popular spot for sunbathing, fishing, snorkeling, jet skiing and surfing. Visitors can also visit world heritage sites such as Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Ancient Capital and Phong Nha Cave, all  easily accessible by taxi or bus.

2. Non Nuoc Beach

Non Nuoc Beach is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With soft sand, gentle slopes, clear waters, and gentle waves, there's a lot to see and do here. Popular activities include sunbathing, jet skiing, surfing and sampling local seafood dishes. 

A 20-minute drive from Da Nang city, Non Nuoc Beach occupies 5 km of the coastline of Hoa Hai ward and ends at the foot of the Marble Mountains. You can also explore ancient temples, sacred caves and craft villages in the mountains before or after a day at the beach.

3. Bac My An Beach

Bac My An Beach is known as the home of many resorts and 5-star hotels in Da Nang. It is 4 km long and can accommodate more than 5,000 people bathing at the same time. The resorts have their own areas for sunbathing and participating in outdoor activities. 

However, you can find public beaches if you're not planning on staying at a luxury resort during your vacation. Around Bac My An Beach there are also a number of mid-range hotels as well as local restaurants serving fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Kayaking, diving and windsurfing are among the most popular activities for tourists here.

4. Thanh Binh Beach

Thanh Binh Beach is the closest beach to Da Nang city. Its  proximity makes it a popular place for locals to relax in the evenings and weekends. Stretching over 1 km, this place is mainly home to mid-range hotels and local seafood restaurants. 

As with most beaches in Da Nang, you can enjoy a day of windsurfing, swimming and yachting at Thanh Binh Beach. There are also plenty of sunbeds for rent if you want to sunbathe here. Located in Hai Chau district, the beach is a 15-minute drive from Da Nang airport.

5. Lang Co Beach

Lang Co beach is 10 km long, located between Truong Son mountain and the southernmost of Hai Van pass. This is one of the most hidden beaches in Da Nang as it is mainly visited by locals and tourists on the winding roads of Hai Van Pass. 

Here you can enjoy a relaxing day  with breathtaking views of the mountains. Bach Ma National Park is located 30 km west of Lang Co Beach, nature lovers can hike through forest trails, see rare wildlife species, and even climb mountains from here. the top of Rhododendrun Falls.

6. Son Tra Peninsula

Son Tra Peninsula is where you can find some of Da Nang's most hidden beaches such as Bai Bac, Tien Sa, Bai Con. Located 12 km north of Da Nang, this is also a nature reserve, home to the rare red-footed langur. 

When coming here, be sure to visit Linh Ung Pagoda. Located on Son Tra Mountain (Monkey), the magnificent temple is known for its 67-meter high white statue of the Goddess of Mercy. Son Tra peninsula also has a  point that looks like Ban Co peak. Notice the bronze statue of Confucius, one of China's most prominent philosophers.

7. Tien Sa Beach

Tien Sa Beach is located at the western end of the Son Tra range. It is mainly inhabited by fishing villages, but its peaceful setting is a suitable place to escape the crowds. You can easily get there by motorbike because the roads leading to Son Tra peninsula are mostly empty. 

Part of Tien Sa beach belongs to the hotel of the same name, so if you are not a guest, you will have to pay a small entrance fee. After a day on the beach, be sure to visit Linh Ung Pagoda and Ban Co Peak before heading back to Da Nang city.

8. Nam O Beach

Nam O beach is 17 km northwest of Da Nang city. It offers eco-boat trips to the ethnic minority villages of Hoa Bac and Hoa Bang. The best time to go to Nam O beach is from April to August. The water is calm and clear enough for snorkeling and viewing marine life.

If you are a surfer, the weather conditions are ideal between November and February. You can also find local restaurants serving mainly seafood dishes - we highly recommend ordering the curry, which is dried herring wrapped in rice paper, served with dipping sauce,  herbs and fresh vegetables.

9. Xuan Thieu Beach

Xuan Thieu Beach is a 20-minute drive from Da Nang airport. The beach has a length of 15 km leading to the foot of Hai Van Pass, the highest pass in Vietnam. This historic beach was used as a  military area by the United States in 1975, has an airport and a military storage facility. 

Nowadays, you can find several  resorts, seafood restaurants and bars here. It is also known as Red Beach because the reflection of the rising (or setting) sun turns the waters a brilliant crimson.

10. Bai Bac Beach

Bai Bac Beach is known for the luxurious InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort that occupies part of the coastline. Although this is a popular weekend getaway for locals, part of the beach is closed  to the public for a turtle conservation site. 
 
 It takes about 4 hours of moderate hiking from Bai Bac beach to  Son Tra or the Monkey Mountains, and the  jungle trails are great for spotting rare species. The mountain is home to long-tailed macaques, long-tailed macaques, pygmy loris and brown-shanked douc langurs.
